Position Purpose:

The Integration Developer is responsible for designing and implementing integration solutions using the MuleSoft Integration platform. A strong background in developing integrations utilizing various protocols in multiple data formats is required. Development expertise within the MuleSoft Integration platform is essential.

The Integration Developer will function as a core member of the integration team, which includes other developers, testers, architects, and is overseen by a director. They will work closely with other technical and business team members, following organization-wide integration standards and principles. Strong communication skills, documentation capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment are crucial for success in this role.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Integration Design and Development

  • Utilize the MuleSoft Integration platform to design and develop robust integration solutions – MuleSoft experience is a requirement.
  • Create integrations using various protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, JDBC, JMS, REST, and SOAP.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in handling data formats, including JSON, XML, CSV, and YAML.
  • Utilize RAML for effective API specification and design.
  • Implement version control using source control tools, particularly GitLab.

API/Integration Design Principles and Management.

  • Apply understanding of RESTful API/Integration design principles to ensure efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with project management and build automation tools.
  • Employ tactics for mapping and transforming data within integration workflows.
  • Utilize various deployment models for Mule applications, focusing on automation for efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced components of API/Integration Manager, such as Apigee, for proxy management, contract management, SLAs, etc.

Integration Patterns and Security

  • Leverage extensive experience with integration patterns, including Batch, Messaging, and APIs.
  • Apply understanding of application security protocols, such as OAuth, SSH, and encryption.

Communication and Documentation

  • Demonstrate strong technical and non-technical communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Document API/Integration specifications and technical designs to ensure clarity and maintainability.

Implementation and Testing

  • Prepare Implementation/Deployment Plans for each application within the integration landscape.
  • Code, conduct unit testing, and provide support for System Integration Testing (SIT) for each Integration Object.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in software development, engineering or data engineering.
  • Experience using the MuleSoft Integration platform, showcasing proficiency in designing and implementing integration solutions.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, engineering or data engineering.
  • Proven track record of creating integrations using HTTP, HTTPS, JDBC, JMS, REST, and SOAP protocols.
  • Understanding of various data formats, including json, xml, csv, and yaml.
  • Familiarity with deployment models for MuleSoft applications, emphasizing automation, reusability, and scalability.
  • Experience with advanced components of API/Integration Manager, such as Apigee.
  • Extensive experience with integration patterns, including Batch, Messaging, and APIs.
  • Understanding of application security protocols, such as OAuth, SSH, and encryption.
  • Experience documenting API/Integration specifications and technical designs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working within cross-functional teams.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

Required:

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer

Preferred but not required:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Training or certification in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, as many integration projects follow Agile practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment located in Milwaukee, WI. Onsite required.
  • 25% travel required
